Kensington Publishing has entered an exclusive partnership with the Books-A-Million bookstore chain to launch Lyrical High Notes, a new line that will release select titles from Kensington’s digital imprint in trade paperback editions. Lyrical High Point trade paperbacks will be offered for sale for a limited time exclusively though BAM and sell for $12.95.
The line features successful titles that have been initially released exclusively as e-books. BAM will be the sole retailer of Lyrical High Point titles for their first three months in print. The line will launch in November, with the release of Consumed by Rebecca Zanetti; Shadowed by Rebecca Zanetti; and Playing the Game by M. Q. Barber. Kensington will release two more titles in January, after which the publisher will release a new title each month for the rest of the year.
Kensington plans to support the Lyrical High Point line with variety of on and offline events including outreach to bloggers, promotion via social media, in-store displays and a launch party on November 8, at the BAM store in York, Pa. All of BAM’s 260 stores in the U.S. will receive a “Lyrical Launch Pack,” which includes giveaways and promotional items.
Steven Zacharius, president and CEO of Kensington, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Books-A-Million to extend the readership of these fresh and edgy books. Each of the titles chosen for the Lyrical High Notes program was highly successful in its e-only format, and these special printed editions will give our digital-first authors the retail presence that they deserve.”
