Sue Monk Kidd’s The Invention of Wings was Amazon’s top-selling title in 2014, the e-tailer said Friday morning. The title was released January 7, and was Amazon’s Best Book of the Month pick for January. The book was also a selection for Oprah’s Book Club.
Gray Mountain by John Grisham came in second, followed by All the Light We Cannot See, Twenty Seconds Ago, and Big Little Lies. The list includes only frontlist books, first published during 2014, and counts both paid e-books and print editions.
In the kids and teen category, The Heroes of Olympus Book Five: The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan was the #1 title, followed by Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. City of Heavenly Fire, Rush Revere and the First Patriots and The One rounded out the top five sellers.
