Northern California Independent Booksellers Association president Calvin Crosby has resigned his position. He is currently serving as marketing director at McSweeney’s after taking a leave of absence from Book Passage in Corte Madera. (The board president must be a bookseller.)
Christin Evans of the Booksmith in San Francisco will fill out Crosby's board term, and v-p John Russet of Mountain Bookshop in Sonora will serve as president until the NCIBA membership approves a new president in May. Meanwhile Melinda Powers of Bookshop Santa Cruz will join the board to complete the term of Kathleen Caldwell of A Great Good Place for Books in Oakland, who stepped down last fall.
