In Thursday’s Bookselling This Week the American Booksellers Association announced the results of the elections for board of directors. Betsy Burton, owner of The King’s English Bookshop in Salt Lake City, has won a two-year term as ABA president, and Robert Sindelar, managing partner of Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park, Wash., will serve a two-year term as v-p/secretary.

After serving for the past two years as ABA president, Steve Bercu, owner of BookPeople in Austin, Tex., will be leaving the board. The transition will take place at BookExpo America later this month.

In addition, Valerie Koehler, owner of Blue Willow Bookshop in Houston; Pete Mulvihill, co-owner of Green Apple Books in San Francisco; and Jonathon Welch of Talking Leaves…Books in Buffalo have been elected to three-year terms as directors.

Sarah Bagby, owner of Watermark Books & Café in Wichita; John Evans of DIESEL, A Bookstore in Oakland, Larkspur, and Brentwood, Calif.; Jamie Fiocco, owner of Flyleaf Books in Chapel Hill; Matthew Norcross, co-owner of McLean & Eakin Booksellers in Petoskey, Mich.; and Annie Philbrick, co-owner of Bank Square Books in Mystic, Ct., will continue to serve on the board.
