Dog Eared Books to Open in the Castro: Just days after Books Inc. announced that it would leave the San Francisco neighborhood, Dog Eared Books posted on Facebook that it will add a second store there in May. The new store will open in the space formerly occupied by In a Different Light Books, which closed in 2011.
Snow Goose Books & Frames on the Market: Owners Kristine Kaufman and Tom Bird are “hanging up [their] bookselling shoes” after 18 years at the Stanwood, Wash., bookstore and looking for a buyer. They plan to actively manage the store until it is sold.
