Baker & Taylor and Ingram have launched a variety of programs to assist retailers during the holiday shopping season.
B&T is offering several programs aimed at Independent bookstores, including rebates, extra discounts, free freight, and regional promotions.
Beginning in November (stores need to register by Nov. 10) and lasting through December, B&T is offering a holiday rebate program to eligible indie bookstores that increase their current orders compared to 2016. B&T is also kicking off November with University Press Week, offering ABA member bookstores extra discounts on more than 650 titles from 41 university presses through Nov. 13.
Taking note of the popular annual promotion, Small Business Saturday, which takes place on Nov. 25, B&T is celebrating Indies First on Small Business Saturday, with a new program offering ABA member bookstores a 45% discount on all trade books and sidelines, plus free shipping of 15 or more units. And all indie bookstores can get additional discounts (45% through December 15) featured in the holiday catalogs of the regional bookseller associations.
Ingram is updating its free freight shipping program for its wholesale and distribution clients to make it easier to order and reorder during the high-volume holiday shopping season. Beginning November 1, retailers can qualify for free shipping on minimum orders of $350 or 15 books. The program is designed to make it easier for booksellers to order higher-priced illustrated books, art, lifestyle, design and photography titles that are popular during the holiday season.
