Built to Spill
One-quarter of the books on our hardcover nonfiction list mention the president by name in the title or subtitle, including two books that are new to our lists. The #3 book in the country, Unhinged by Omarosa Manigault Newman, is a “venomous tell-all,” our review said, in which “the Trump presidency resembles the reality show that birthed it.”
At #10 in hardcover nonfiction, House of Trump, House of Putin by Craig Unger follows in the mold of 2004’s House of Bush, House of Saud, which has sold 98K print copies. Unger’s new book, our review said, makes a “colorful but unconvincing case against Trump” with “plenty of supposition, innuendo, and guilt by association—but no smoking gun.”

Movie Watch
Black Klansman by Ron Stallworth debuts at #18 in trade paper. Niche press Police and Fire originally published the book in 2014 and, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Shaun Redick, one of the executive producers of Jordan Peele’s Get Out, brought the book to the attention of Peele and others involved in that movie. The group teamed up with director Spike Lee, and the movie opened August 10.
Seconds and Thirds

At #17 in hardcover nonfiction, 100 Days of Real Food: On a Budget is the third cookbook by blogger Lisa Leake, following 2014’s 100 Days of Real Food (123K print copies sold) and 2016’s 100 Days of Real Food: Fast & Fabulous (70K print copies).
