Ingram Content Group has announced an expansion of its recently launched Ingram Wholesale Services UK (IW UK) division with the addition of titles published by clients of its IPS UK distribution arm. The IPS UK catalog contains “tens of thousands books,” Ingram said.
Ingram Content Group launched IW UK last September. Kevin Hyer, director of international sales at Ingram Content Group, said the addition of IPS UK distributed books to IW UK “was a major focus and goal” for the company. The move not only expands the number of titles available through IW UK, but also gives titles carried by IPS access to IW UK’s customer base. “For publishers at IPS UK this will increase their sales reach, while also introducing much-needed competition into the U.K. book market,” said Matthew Dickie, senior manager for IPS UK.
Since its fall launch, IW UK has grown to carry about 9 million titles, with titles from thousands of publishers. Donald Roseman, v-p and general manager of Ingram Wholesale leads the business, and Mark Hunt, U.K. sales manager, is the account leader in the U.K. "We have had welcoming and positive feedback from U.K. based and global retailers and are bringing new accounts on board daily," an Ingram spokesperson said.
