Power Seller
Reckless, the latest YA romantasy from Lauren Roberts, is the #1 book in the country. It continues the series Roberts began with Powerless, and follows Powerful, a shorter volume outside the main trilogy that takes place at the same time as the events in the first book. Reckless, Powerless, and Powerful all appear on our children’s fiction list this week at #1, #3, and #6 respectively; in April 2025, Roberts will complete the main trilogy with Fearless.

Chris Whitaker’s Read with Jenna–anointed All the Colors of the Dark, which our starred review deemed “astonishing,” holds fast to our hardcover fiction list in its second week on sale, at #8. Debuting at #12, The God of the Woods is the “gripping and revelatory latest” from Liz Moore, per our starred review, and the current Barnes & Noble Book Club pick. And at #18 on our hardcover fiction list, The Cliffs by J. Courtney Sullivan is the new Reese’s Book Club selection.
Ice Ice Baby
In one of the more timely debuts we’ve seen in some time, Freezer Door Cocktails by J.M. Hirsch lands at #17 on our hardcover nonfiction list. According to our review, “Each recipe starts with a full 750 ml. bottle of the base liquor, some of which is poured off to make room for the other ingredients”— words that initially froze the blood in our veins. But fret not: the 75 batched recipes also include single-serve ideas, so not a drop goes to waste.

The Art Thief
Michael Finkel
#4 Trade Paperback
Finkel’s “masterful true crime account,” according to our starred review, “traces the fascinating exploits of Stéphane Breitwieser, a French art thief who stole more than 200 artworks from across Europe between 1995 and 2001.” The author “revels in the audacity of the escapades, including feats of misdirection in broad daylight, and the slow, inexorable pace of the law.”
The 2023 hardcover has sold more than 71K print copies; the trade paper edition debuts on our list in its second week on sale after selling four times as many print copies as it did in its first week, thanks in part to getting the nod from Barnes & Noble as its monthly nonfiction pick.
