Sequential, the graphic novel retail app that specializes in literary comics, has added a selection of graphic novels from the New York indie comics publisher NBM. NBM will add ten titles to the Sequential list including works by Rick Geary, Stan Mack and Margreet de Heer.
NBM founder and publisher Terry Nantier said, “Sequential's aim to curate a quality selection of literary graphic novels and try to reach a general audience is one we share; we're delighted to have our titles available on their app.”
Sequential is a digital comics storefront app launched in 2013 that focuses on literary and independent press graphic novels and art comics. Among the new NBM titles added to the Sequential app are Rick Geary’s Madison Square Tragedy, Philosophy: A discovery in Comics by Margreet de Heer, Taxes, The Tea Party, and those Revolting Rebels: A History in Coomics of the American Revolution by Stan Mack, Zombillenium by Arthur de Pins and others.
The venture has been working to increase its offerings and in recent months has added titles by such acclaimed comics artists as Jaime Hernandez, Eddie Campbell, Rutu Modan, Brian Bolland, David Lloyd, Jose Louis-Bocqet, Pierre Oscar Levy, Frederick Peeters, Ellen Lindner, Alan Moore, Hunt Emerson and Isabel Greenberg among others.
Sequential will also be a sponsor of this year's MoCCA Arts Fest (April 5 and 6), the annual festival of small press and self-published comics in New York City now organized by the Society of Illustrators.
“We are thrilled to be able to add these NBM titles to the app and will be adding even more shortly,” said Sequential founder Russell Willis. “NBM was the first publisher of graphic novels in the U.S., and has played a significant part in expanding the horizons of the form."
