4/11: Trekker Release Party in Portland, OR

4/12: Lumberjanes Signing in Chicago, IL

Celebrate the release of Lumberjanes #1 (Boom Box!) with co-creator Noelle Stevenson on Saturday, April 12th from 1-4 p.m. at Challengers Comics + Conversation in Chicago, Illinois. The hotly-anticipated series, co-written by Stevenson and Grace Ellis and illustrated by Brooke Allen, follows Jo, April, May, Molly and Ripley while they attend summer scout camp and encounter all sorts of supernatural occurrences. Liinework NW is a one-day comics and illustration festival taking place on Saturday, April 12th from 2-9 p.m. at the Norse Hall in Portland, Oregon. 4/12-4/13: Asbury Park Comic Con in Asbury Park, NJ

The Asbury Park Comicon kicks off this weekend, April 12-13, at the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The show prides itself on being a "good old-fashioned con" that focuses on just comic books and comic creators. Programming includes panels such as "The Art of Lettering," "Marvel in the 80s," and "Graphic Novels and the Indie Perspective." The Small Press & Alternative Comics Expo (SPACE) is taking place on April 12th and 13th at the Ramada Plaza Hotel + Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio. Now in it's 15th year, SPACE is the midwest's longest-running small press convention that focuses on local and creator-owned comics, and gives creators the opportunity to share their work with professionals, amateurs, and fans alike.
