6/26: Tamaki, Moynihan, Kim Signing in Los Angeles, CA

Join creators Jillian Tamaki, Jesse Moynihan, and Seo Kim for a triple signing to celebrate the release of their new books on Thursday, June 26 from 6–9pm at The Secret Headquarters in Los Angeles, California. Tamaki's new book, This One Summer (First Second) follows two young girls as they come of age over the summer months; Moynihan's Forming II (Nobrow Press) continues his universe-creation saga that enters into an age of turbulence; Kim's Cat Person records the ups, downs, and sideways of her daily life with her cat. 6/26: Truth Is Fragmentary Launch in Brooklyn, NY

Cartoonist Gabrielle Bell will be celebrating the release of her new book, Truth Is Fragmentary: Travelogues & Diaries (Uncivilized Books) on Thursday, June 26 from 7–9pm at Desert Island in Brooklyn, New York. The book is a collection of Bell's quirky and surreal dispatches from her travels around Colombia, France, Sweden, and upstate New York. Admission is free. 6/26–6/28: Comics & Medicine Conference in Baltimore, MD

The fifth Comics & Medicine Conference, organized by Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Department of Art as Applied to Medicine in collaboration with Graphic Medicine will take place from June 26–28 at the Pre-Clinical Teaching Building on the Johns Hopkins Medical Campus in Baltimore, Maryland. The annual conference brings together artists, academics, students, and healthcare professionals for an exchange of ideas along with panels, workshops and lectures. This year's keynote speakers are Ellen Fornay, Arthur Frank, James Strum, and Carol Tilley. General registration is $125; $75 for students (registration ends 6/23). 6/27: Dead Boy Detectives Launch Party in London, U.K.

Creators Mark Buckingham and Toby Litt will be celebrating the release of Dead Boy Detectives Vol. 1: Schoolboy Terrors (Vertigo) on Friday, June 27 from 7–9pm at Gosh! Comics in London, United Kingdom. Spun out of The Sandman, Dead Boy Detectives collects the series' first six issues and follows undead sleuths Charles and Edwin as they guide a girl named Crystal through a murder mystery at her new school. 6/27–6/29: Albuquerque Comic Expo in Albuquerque, NM

The Albuquerque Comic Expo (ACE), one of New Mexico's premier conventions, is taking place from June 27–29 at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The show boasts three-full days of comic and pop culture programming including panels and workshops such as "Women in Comics," "7000 BC: Basics of Comic Scripting," "Transmetropolitan Discussion," and "From Comics to Film," creator spotlights, and more. Comics guests include Amanda Conner, Richard Starkings, Darick Robertson, Jimmy Palmiotti, and Scott Kolins. Single day tickets are $20; 3-day passes are $40; VIP packages are $150.
