Acclaimed restaurateur Ashok Bajaj and James Beard Award-winning Chef Vikram Sunderam are collaborating with Columnist David Hagedorn on a new Indian cookbook called Rasika: Flavorful Recipes From A Groundbreaking Indian Restaurant, to be published by HarperCollins imprint Ecco.
HarperCollins's Dan Halpern and Gabriella Doob worked with literary agent Joy Tutela of David Black Literary Agency secured rights to the book. The title will go on sale in fall 2016, with 100 recipes showcasing the cuisine of the famed Rasika restaurant in Washington, D.C.
Rasika, which opened in 2005, was named one of the America’s “Best New Restaurants” by Esquire, as well as one of Food & Wine’s “Hottest Restaurants in The World.” Sunderam won Best Chef Mid-Atlantic James Beard Award in 2014, and in September 2014, was asked by the State Department to prepare a special dinner for the Prime Minister of India, as well as to orchestrate the first Diwali catering event in October 2014.
