Graphic Arts Books has acquired the trade titles and publishing rights of Pruett Publishing Company of Boulder, Col. The deal includes about 50 books which Graphic Arts will publish under its WestWinds Press imprint. But the Pruett name will not be disappearing as Graphic Arts said it will add “The Pruett Series” on the back cover to each title as it reprints or reissues the titles as both print and e-books.
Pruett Publishing was founded in 1954 to focus on the publication of western regional titles, something Graphic Arts will continue. “The Pruett list gives us a well-established and respected presence in the Colorado and Rocky Mountain region of the West,” said Douglas Pfeiffer, publishing director at Graphic Arts. Only one of Pruett’s titles has been released as an e-book, but Graphic Arts will digitize the remainder of the backlist, Pfeiffer said.
Graphic Arts is owned by Ingram and its titles distributed by Ingram Publisher Services.
