E-book publisher Start Publishing has added 795 titles to its catalogue in a deal with independent publisher Mason Crest.
Under the agreement, beginning in September, Start will distribute Mason Crest titles to e-book trade retailers, while Mason Crest will continue to distribute e-books to the school and library market.
“We are pleased to be working with Start Publishing to sell our e-books to the general consumer,” said Mason Crest CEO Dan Hilferty. Mason Crest was founded in 2002 by the former owners of Chelsea House Publishing and is best known as a publisher of nonfiction, young adult, school and library books covering what it calls “a variety of socially responsible, high-interest, and forward-thinking topics.”
Start Media CEO Michael J. Maher said, "Start Publishing's partnership with Mason Crest gives us a chance to publish books digitally that have never been available to the general trade consumer. We look forward to working with Mason Crest and its innovative brand of books."
