Rosen Publishing has acquired the publishing rights to all titles from three Gale imprints, Greenhaven, KidHaven, and Lucent. The agreement includes e-book rights as well as print. Under the deal, Rosen will be responsible for creating and selling new titles under each of these brands and will become the exclusive publisher of existing Greenhaven, Lucent, and KidHaven books and e-books.
Gale’s imprints cover a range of subjects including American history, world history, global issues, health/medicine, literature, art, and music for the K-12 market. The imprints, Roger Rosen, CEO of Rosen Publishing said, "deliver unique perspectives that allow learners in K-12 and beyond access to a multiplicity of points of view and a depth of exploration in a wide variety of subject matter.”
The deal includes rights to the Gale’s print series Opposing Viewpoints, but not to the associated database, Opposing Viewpoints in Context.
Paul Gazzolo, senior v-p, general manager of Gale said, the company wanted to find a new home for the imprints as it invests more ins in new content and new technologies.
