Fox Chapel Publishing has acquired independent quilt publisher Landauer Publishing for an undisclosed price.
Founded in 1991 by Jeramy Lanigan Landauer, Landauer Publishing has a backlist of more than 100 quilting and needle-arts titles. In addition to publishing books for experienced quilters, the company offers titles for new quilters through its First-Time and Basics & Beyond series.
According to Fox Chapel, which has been distributing Landauer since January 2017, it will continue to maintain the Landauer brand, including continuing its website and blogs. Fox Chapel has also hired Laundauer employees Laurel Albright and Sue Voegtlin, who will remain responsible for art direction and photography for forthcoming new Landauer titles.
Alan Giagnocavo, president of Fox Chapel, said the Landauer line will fit well with its own craft titles. "Jeramy and her team have a well-deserved reputation for creating very useable, high-quality books for quilters," he said in a statement. "Our mission is to strengthen the Landauer brand and use our resources to elevate its quilt books and products."
