Fox Chapel Publishing, an independent publisher of books and magazines for craftspeople, hobbyists and DIY enthusiasts, has acquired Old Pond Publishing, a U.K. house specializing in titles on agriculture, machinery, and animal husbandry.
Fox Chapel, which is based in East Petersburg, Pa., closed the acquisition in late October. Fox Chapel Publishers International Ltd., Fox Chapels’ U.K.-based branch, will manage the Old Pond imprint. U.S. sales and distribution will be handled by Two Rivers Distribution, an Ingram company.
Old Pond Publishing was founded in 1997 in Sheffield, England. The house has a backlist of about 230 books and 30 DVDs on farming, forestry, earth-moving and heavy transport, and current events in agriculture. The house also publishes educational titles for children on small farming and animal husbandry.
Fox Chapel Publishing president Alan Giagnocavoi said “Old Pond has a well-deserved reputation for creating very useable, high-quality books for farmers, smallholders, and machinery aficionados. Our mission is to strengthen the Old Pond brand and use our resources to elevate its books and products.”
A few Old Pond titles have been distributed in the U.S. by IPG and Fox Chapel plans to expand the number of books available in the States.
