Oasis Family Media has acquired Christian fiction press Enclave Publishing in a move to expand its audiobook business into print publishing. Beginning January 1, Enclave will be a division of OFM, alongside Oasis Audio and its Paperback Classics and Hollywoodland Audiobooks imprints.
The purchase of Enclave involves 72 titles, including Christy Award-winning titles Forsaken Island and Mortal Sight. Enclave’s founder and publisher Steve Laube will stay on as publisher and curator of the brand. “For a while now, Oasis has considered expanding into the world of print,” Jonathan Morris, CEO of OFM, said in a statement. “I believe that Enclave and Oasis are a perfect fit.”
Oasis Audio publisher and OFM president Steve Smith tells PW that the goal is to publish at least 12 new Enclave titles in 2022. Oasis Audio will release audiobooks of all upcoming Enclave titles simultaneously with the print book releases. “Enclave will continue to do what they do best — science fiction, fantasy, and steampunk stories told through a Christian lens," Smith said in a separate statement.
Prior to landing at OFM, Enclave was a part of Gilead Publishing. In 2019 however, Laube became the sole owner of Enclave. In a statement about joining OFM, Laube said: "I have long believed that speculative fiction is unique in its ability to tell fantastic stories of philosophical and theological depth. This new partnership will give these books the support they need to reach new and, hopefully, ravenous readers.”
