Ulysses Press has acquired VeloPress from Outside Interactive, Inc. The purchase involves about 80 titles in the health and fitness category with a special focus on books on endurance sports such as cycling, triathlon, running, and swimming. Among the titles involved in the purchase are Running Rewired, The Triathlete’s Training Bible, and The Feed Zone Cookbook
Ulysses, which has offices on New York City and Berkeley, Calif. and is distributed by Simon & Schuster, will maintain VeloPress as an imprint under the direction of Ulysses publisher Keith Riegert. Ulysses is planning to publish four frontlist Velo titles in spring 2024, including a new edition of Joe Friel’s Triathlete’s Training Bible. Plans call for Ulysses to continue to add new titles to the Velo list, with a 2024 target of 12 new titles.
“Ulysses Press is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to grow the audience for some of the world’s best sports training books and fitness experts,” said Riegert in a statement.
