PWxyz, parent company of Publishers Weekly, and the Seville, Spain–based Lantia publishing company, have ended their business relationship. The centerpiece of the agreement gave Lantia the right to produce the bimonthly publication PW en Español. However, with the termination of the deal, Lantia and its related businesses are no longer authorized to use any of PWxyz’s trademarks or copyrighted material.
The two parties signed the initial four-year agreement in 2020. “While Lantia produced quality coverage, the business opportunities did not materialize as expected,” explained Carl Pritzkat, PWxyz COO. Pritzkat added that “PW will continue to explore ways to meet the needs of the Spanish-language publishing market, including expanded coverage on PW’s media platforms.”
