Mary Kate Maco has joined Stanford University Press as publicity manager. Maco was publicity director at Harvard University Press from 1999 to 2009. She then became account manager for HooksBookEvents in Boston.

Chronicle Books has hired Kelli Chipponeri as executive editor, children’s. Chipponeri was previously children’s editorial director at Running Press, where she worked on the Cathy’s Book series, Peanuts and Hello Kitty licenses, and other projects. At Chronicle, Chipponeri will manage the department and acquire across the children's list. Chronicle has also hired Sarah Wharton as marketing assistant; Leigh Saffold as associate managing editor, custom publishing; Jeff Wiebe as inventory control manager; and Matthew Fellows as software engineer. The company announced the following promotions: Kim Romero and Laura Lee Mattingly are now associate editors; and Emily Craig is now a permanent junior designer, marcom.

Yale University Press has announced four editorial promotions: Ileene Smith has been promoted to executive editor-at-large, Jennifer Banks has been promoted to senior editor for religion and classics, Tim Shea has been promoted to editor of foreign languages, and Laura Davulis has been promoted to editor, digital development.
