Pfund Named President of Oxford University Press USA

Niko Pfund, acting president of Oxford University Press USA since December 2010, has been named president of OUP USA. Pfund will continue as academic publisher of OUP USA. Pfund will now manage the day-to-day operations of OUP USA and also continue to direct Oxford’s U.S. development as a journals publisher. Pfund will work within OUP’s global academic publishing framework, which includes global sales and marketing; digital/reference; strategy management; content operations and IT and business development.

Tim Barton, managing director of OUP global academic publishing, said, “We are confident that these two roles will be mutually supportive, positioning Niko to represent OUP’s scholarly and educational mission even more effectively to the academic, library and learned society communities.”
