James Plumeri, cover art director for two decades (1985-2005) with Bantam Dell, and before that for 15 years with New American Library, died February 2. He was 79. Plumeri produced some 6,500 book jackets and covers for Bantam Dell alone, and at NAL designed the mass market covers for Stephen King’s Salem's Lot and The Shining.
