Sam Tanenhaus is leaving his post as editor of the New York Times Book Review. As reported, Tanenhaus, who is stepping down after nine years in the role to become a writer-at-large, is being replaced by Pamela Paul. Paul was the children's book editor at the paper.

A memo from the Times stated: "[Paul's] versatility as an editor and writer has strengthened the Book Review and many other sections, including the Magazine, Education Life and Sunday Styles, where she originated the biweekly 'Studied' column."
