Judith Regan announced the first round of hires for her newly launched book imprint multimedia unit at Phaidon, Regan Arts.

Michael Szczerban, who will serve as senior editor, comes from Simon & Schuster, where he was the recipient of the 2012 Lawrence Peel Ashmead Editorial Award. Szczerban will acquire both fiction and nonfiction titles "with an emphasis on transformative ideas, technology and culture, and writers who explore why we are the way we are," Phaidon said.

Former contributing editor at Shelf Awareness and senior editor at Galley Cat Ron Hogan will join Regan Arts as editor, acquiring fiction and nonfiction. Associate editor Fritz Brantley was previously an editor and marketer at Routledge.
