Stacy Creamer has been named v-p and executive editor of the newly announced imprint at Hachette, built off of the Hyperion backlist, Hachette Books. Creamer, who had been publisher of Simon & Schuster's Touchstone imprint, will be joining a division Hachette said will publish in the areas of narrative nonfiction, business, pop culture, science, health and wellness, humor, and, to a smaller extent, fiction.
Creamer, who is set to start at Hachette on June 16, will report directly to Mauro DiPreta, who was recently named publisher of Hachette Books.
A veteran of the publishing industry, Creamer has more than 30 years of experience in the business. Before joining Touchstone, she worked at, among other places, Broadway Books and Putnam. Creamer, who left S&S last fall, has acquired titles by Lance Armstrong, Lauren Weisberger and Elizabeth Edwards. Of her new position, she said she is looking forward to "acquiring and editing exciting new narrative nonfiction, memoirs, and novels, especially with the extraordinary sales and marketing support that HBG has demonstrated time and time again."
