Longtime St. Martin’s marketing executive Matthew Baldacci will move to Scholastic April 28 as v-p of marketing for the Scholastic Trade Publishing division. Baldacci has been at St. Martin’s since 1998, most recently as v-p, associate publisher, marketing and sales operations. At Scholastic he will oversee marketing and brand strategy for all imprints of the trade division, reporting to division president Ellie Berger. Baldacci is replacing Stacy Lellos who left Scholastic in November for a job outside of publishing.
“Matthew Baldacci is a creative and innovative marketer who has experience in just about every role in book marketing, including developing new marketing strategies and platforms that utilize emerging technologies to market books,” said Berger.
“I am highly energized to be joining Scholastic, an important and powerful publisher in the field of children's books," said Baldacci. “Ellie Berger has a marketing team that is widely respected, and I am honored to be tapped to lead such a successful group. This position marks a happy return to children's publishing, where I began my career.”
