Indigo Books & Music has appointed Laura Carr, senior v-p, finance to the position of executive v-p and CFO, effective June 25. She succeeds Kay Brekken, who has accepted a position outside the company.
On July 1, Sarah Williams will join the Sophie Hicks Agency, the eponymous agency formed last month by Hicks after she decamped from Ed Victor Ltd. Williams was also previously at Ed Victor Ltd.
Karen Shapiro joins Sourcebooks in the newly created position of publishing manager for the entertainment group. She was most recently with Hinkler Books in Australia, where she was general manager of publishing & development manager. At Sourcebooks, she will be responsible for managing the editorial, design, and manufacturing processes for the entertainment group, gift & calendars, Put Me In The Story, regionalized product lines, children’s nonfiction, and other custom retail products.
Kyle Olund has joined Worthy Publishing as executive editor. Olund previously held positions at Scripture Press/Victor Books, Random House, and Thomas Nelson Publishers.
