Paul Crichton will be leaving his post as v-p, director of publicity at Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, effective June 27.

He will be traveling and mulling the "next steps in his career," according to S&S Children's president and publisher Jon Anderson, who made the announcement Monday in an internal memo.

During his nine year tenure at S&S, Crichton worked on campaigns for Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series, Rachel Renee Russell's Dork Diaries franchise, and Tony DiTerlizzi’s and Holly Black’s Spiderwick series.

"[Crichton's] contacts with the press, his reputation within children’s publishing, and his relationships with booksellers across the country are well-known throughout the industry," said Anderson, adding that the publisher will begin the "difficult task of filling his sizable shoes."
