Foundry Literary + Media has hired Peter Steinberg as an agent, and Richie Kern as the agency's new director of filmed entertainment.
Previously of the Steinberg Agency, Steinberg's clients include Alicia Silverstone (The Kind Diet), Brad Watson (The Heaven of Mercury, a nominee for the National Book Award), and Keith Donohue (The Boy Who Drew Monsters). At Foundry, Steinberg will focus on a broad array of categories, including narrative nonfiction, commercial and literary fiction, health, humor and young adult.
Kern, who has held posts at ICM and WME, was most recently a senior editor and television development executive at Macmillan Entertainment/Thomas Dunne Books. He will manage television, film, and other filmed entertainment rights for the agency.
