Alison Rich, v-p and executive director of publicity for Doubleday, will take on the additional role of associate publisher for Knopf Doubleday imprint Nan A. Talese Books. She will continue to report to Suzanne Herz, executive v-p, executive director of publishing at Doubleday.

In a statement announcing the appointment, Talese, publisher and editorial director of her eponymous imprint, noted that Rich has "had a hand" in her publishing program ever since she was hired as a publicist in 1995 to work exclusively with Nan A. Talese writers. In the ensuing years, Rich has created publicity campaigns for Antonia Fraser, Ian McEwan, Pat Conroy, Margaret Atwood, and Jennifer Egan.

In her new role, Rich will provide additional marketing and publicity support for Nan A. Talese titles, and will head up social media and digital promotional efforts.
