Shawn Morin, chief operating officer of Ingram Content Group since June 2012, has taken on the additional responsibility of president. The promotion was announced by John Ingram, CEO of Ingram Content Group.
“Shawn Morin has provided great leadership for our team at Ingram, especially over the past two years,” Ingram said. “As much as we’re a distribution business, we’re also a technology business. Shawn is a businessman who is very knowledgeable and fluent in technology, which enables everything we do.”
Morin joined the company in 2009 as Chief Information Officer and was promoted to COO in 2012 when Skip Prichard stepped down as CEO and president. Since that time Ingram has been CEO, with the office of the president vacant.
Since he has been COO, Ingram has continued its efforts to transform itself from a traditional distributor to a services company that provides solutions and services for the entire book industry. “We have introduced new services and technology to our customers both domestically and around the globe. Every day Shawn brings the experience, the skills, and the temperament to bear that make for a winning team,” John Ingram said.
