Rodale has done some reorganizing for 2015. The publisher has promoted Mary Ann Naples from v-p and publisher of Rodale Books to senior v-p and publisher. With her promotion come a number of hires and structural tweaks to the books division at the company.
Naples, who has integrated two of Rodale's former standalone websites--RodaleNews.com and Fitbie.com--into the books group, will be working with v-p and deputy publisher Kristin Kiser in 2015, who has been given an expanded role at the publisher. Kiser has, in addition to her current duties, taken on responsibility for the content strategy and product development of Rodale's direct online list, which features products marketed and sold online to Rodale’s direct consumers.
Additionally, Alyse Diamond, who was at OpenSky, has been hired as editorial director of online integrated product development, working directly with Kiser. Aaron Pattrapy, who was at Howcast Media, has been hired as e-course and DVD producer, tasked with producing online courses featuring authors and working with Rodale's magazines on the book group's branded DVD and video program.
Leah Miller has also been hired, joining Rodale on January 12, as a senior editor, reporting directly to editorial director Jennifer Levesque. Miller arrives from Crown, where she acquired for the Archetype and Harmony imprints, and will be looking to acquire titles at Rodale in the the spirituality/mind/body/spirit space, as the publisher looks to expands its offerings in this area. Miller has worked with authors such as Michelle Phan, Mehmet and Lisa Oz, Chris Hedges, and Joel Osteen.
