Gail Gonzales, currently director of integrated marketing at Simon & Schuster, has been been appointed v-p, associate publisher, trade books at Rodale, effective June 15.
In the new position, the publisher said Gonzales, who also served as marketing and publicity director at Hay House, will work to strengthen its publishing program, as well as products and initiatives with authors and brands, and "cultivate synergy" with the various Rodale magazines, integrated marketing team, and direct-to-consumer books group. Gonzales will report to Rodale Books senior v-p and publisher Mary Ann Naples.
"Gail’s wealth of experience and leadership at Hay House and most recently [at S&S] proves that she will be committed to envisioning and implementing out-of-the-box ideas and non-traditional methods to drive our business forward," said Naples.
Among other efforts at S&S, Gonzales was a part of the creation and launch of SimonSays, S&S’s online learning courses. Gonzales worked with authors such as Bethenny Frankel (I Suck At Relationships So You Don't Have To), Eben Alexander (Proof of Heaven), and Rachael Ray (Week In A Day).
