In an announcement Tuesday, Penguin Random House Canada president and CEO Brad Martin announced a number of structural changes. All of the company’s adult imprints under Penguin Canada, McClelland & Stewart, and Random House Canada will now be published under a new division, Penguin Random House Canada Publishing Group. The division will now be headed up by newly named president and publisher Kristin Cochrane, who has been with Random House Canada for 10 years.

Nicole Winstanley — publisher, Penguin Books Canada and v-p, Penguin Random House Canada — will now report to Cochrane, while the rest of the company’s senior leadership will not change. “The potential of this unified team, comprising some of the world’s most accomplished, respected, and well-known publishing professionals fills me with confidence and great optimism for the ongoing success of our publishing,” Martin said in a statement.

On the children’s side, Tara Walker, who joined Tundra Books in 2011, has been named publisher of the newly created Penguin Random House Canada Children’s Publishing Group. This new group will be the umbrella for Tundra Books, Penguin’s Razorbill and Puffin publications, and Doubleday Canada’s young adult titles. Walker has been instrumental in bringing authors such as Isabelle Arsenault, Esta Spalding, and Mélanie Watt to the company to publish upcoming books. She will report to Cochrane.

Lynne Missen, the publishing director of Penguin Canada Young Readers who has been nominated for Libris Editor of the Year three times, will now be reporting to Walker. The two will work together on the integration of Penguin Canada and Doubleday Canada Young Readers.

There are also a number of changes happening on the marketing side of the business. Beth Lockley has been named v-p, marketing for Penguin Random House Canada, reporting to Martin. Lockley will oversee the entire company’s marketing efforts. Tracey Turriff has also been named v-p, publicity and senior v-p, corporate communications for Penguin Random House Canada, and all of the company’s publicists will now report to her.

As a result of the changes, publicity director Nicola Makoway will be leaving after eight years with the company. “Nicola has worked with many notable authors during her eight years with the company,” Martin said in a statement. “We value the contributions she has made and wish her well for the future.”
