Lorena Jones has been named v-p and publisher of a currently unnamed new imprint at Ten Speed Press that will focus on cooking and lifestyle books. Jones, who initially joined Ten Speed in 1994 (and then left in 2009 to become publishing director at Chronicle), will be reporting to Aaron Wehner, senior v-p and publisher for Clarkson Potter, Ten Speed & Harmony Books.
Wehner, who called Jones "a force in illustrated publishing," noted that she oversaw 12 James Beard Award-winning cookbooks during her first stint at Ten Speed--she was publisher of the house from 2004-2008--and acquired titles by, among others, Charlie Trotter (the famous Chicago chef) and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall (the British celebrity chef).
Jones, in addition to overseeing her own imprint, will also be editor-at-large for the Crown Publishing Group's illustrated publishing program.
