The Hachette Book Group has announced that Heather Fain, who has held the dual positions of senior v-p, director of marketing strategy for HBG and deputy publisher of Little, Brown, will be focusing solely on her marketing role. Fain will now join HBG’s executive management board, and report to HBG CEO Michael Pietsch.

To replace her at LB, HBG is bringing back Craig Young, naming him v-p, deputy publisher of the division. Mostly recently associate publisher at Ecco, Young had been with HBG (and Time Warner Publishing before it) for 14 years. He will return to LB on December 1. His last title at LB was sales director. Over the years, he has worked on campaigns for such authors as Patti Smith, Richard Ford and Amy Tan.

Elsewhere in the department, Miriam Parker has been promoted to marketing director, reporting to Young. Parker joined LB in 2010 and was a key part of the launch teams behind both Mulholland Books and Lee Boudreaux Books. She has worked on campaigns for, among other titles, The Goldfinch and Grain Brain.
