Chris Lupo, former senior literary scout at Sanford J. Greenburger Associates, has joined Chernin Entertainment as the company’s book scout.
Lupo, who worked with clients in 18 international markets at SJGA, will be responsible for identifying and securing rights to fiction and nonfiction books that have potential for adaptation to film and television at Chernin. He will be based in New York and report to Jenno Topping, head of film and television.
Chernin Entertainment is the production branch of the Chernin Group, and the company’s current projects include Tim Burton’s film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (based on the book by Ransom Riggs), which is scheduled for release on Christmas Day 2016. Chernin Entertainment's past productions include Rise of the Planet of the Apes and its sequel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The company also currently produces the Fox sitcom New Girl.
