Rowman & Littlefield has appointed Oliver Gadsby to the newly created position of president of its academic and professional division. Gadsby, one-time CEO of Continuum, joined R&L in 2012 and established Rowman & Littlefield International, which is based in London.
In his new role, Gadsby will oversee all of R&L’s academic and professional operations and will split his time between London and the company’s Lanham, Maryland headquarters. The promotion of Gadsby follows last year’s appointment of Jim Childs as head of R&L’s trade division. Jed Lyons, company president and CEO, said that as sales have grown in both the academic and trade segments, “we need the right leadership to drive our business in each area. These markets are global in nature, and I am pleased that Oliver will bring substantial international experience to bear in this new role.”
