Tor/Forge Books has announced a restructuring of its corporate leadership.
President and publisher Tom Doherty has named Patrick Nielsen Hayden associate publisher of Tor Books, effective immediately, along with Devi Pillai, who formerly led the U.S. division of Orbit Books. Hayden has brought authors including John Scalzi and Cory Doctorow into the fold at the publisher.
"I’ve watched Devi’s work with admiration for a long time now; her qualifications are outstanding, and she’ll be a great addition to our team,” Doherty said in a statement. “As we continue our 35-year commitment to adult science fiction and fantasy, Devi and Patrick will work alongside each other to oversee our numerous editors who work primarily in these twin genres."
Linda Quinton, previously associate publisher and v-p of marketing for Tor/Forge, has been named publisher of Forge Books. The company will announce a new head of marketing and publicity in the near future to fill the role Quinton leaves behind.
Doherty confirmed that further staff additions and promotions at the unit will be announced shortly.
