Sherrie Slopianka has joined Harvest House Publishers as v-p and publisher, succeeding LaRae Weikert who will work with Slopianka until retiring on August 31.
Slopianka joins Harvest House from Worthy Publishing where she most recently served as executive director of sales. Her career in publishing began at Word Entertainment Canada as director of operations, but she also has experience from positions at Integrity Publishers and Ingram Publishing Services.
“We are very pleased to have Sherrie Slopianka join Harvest House,” said Bob Hawkins, president of Harvest House, in a press release. “I have no doubt that Sherrie will be a tremendous asset to Harvest House’s expansion in the years to come.”
Weikert’s started in Harvest House’s customer service department in 1985, and a year later, she joined the editorial team. Following several promotions over the years, she was named executive v-p of editorial in 2014 before being promoted to executive v-p and publisher in 2016. Authors Weikert has worked with include bestsellers such as Stormie Omartian, Lori Wick, and Jim and Elizabeth George.
“Looking back on my time at Harvest House, I feel such gratitude for the many opportunities I’ve been given, the incredible people I have had the privilege to work with, and the many friendships I’ve made,” Weikert said in a statement.
