Meg Lemke has joined Publishers Weekly as its new graphic novel reviews editor effective immediately. In addition, longtime PW staffer Craig Teicher has been promoted to director of special editorial projects, and former PW digital business manager Seth Dellon has returned as director of strategic development.
Lemke succeeds Heidi MacDonald, who is leaving the magazine. Lemke will be responsible for editing PW’s weekly reviews of graphic novels. She can be reached at mlemke@publishersweekly.com
While taking on the reviews editor job, Lemke will continue as chair of the Brooklyn Book Festival comics and graphic novel programming committee, as well as in her roles as editor-in-chief of Mutha Magazine, an online publication focused on prose and comics about modern motherhood; and as guest editor of Illustrated PEN, the graphic narratives publication of PEN America, where she is also a curator for the PEN World Voices Festival.
In his new role, Teicher, previously PW’s director of digital operations, will be responsibile for overseeing print and digital editorial supplements, sponsored content, and the development of PWxyz Studio, PW’s custom content department. In addition to his duties at PW, Teicher is an acclaimed poet and the author of The Trembling Answers, a collection of poems published by BOA Editions in April.
Dellon worked at PW for a year before leaving to work as the associate publisher at Foreword Reviews in 2016. Dellon will be responsible for managing business opportunities and technical development of the main website, PublishersWeekly.com, the e-newsletters and e-blasts, as well as such PW online platforms as PubMatch, JobZone, the PW Radio/podcasts and social media channels. Finally, John Maher has been promoted to digital editor in addition to his duties as associate news editor. Along with writing stories for print and web and putting together the PW Daily newsletter each morning, Maher is responsible for managing PW's digital standards and the magazine's weekly print-to-web transition, as well as for managing PW's flagship Twitter account.
