The Crown Publishing Group has announced a number of personnel changes in order to further integrate the Rodale Books operation into the Penguin Random House division. (PRH bought Rodale Books in January.)
Named to one of the top spots overseeing Rodale is Diana Baroni, who has been promoted to v-p, associate publisher, editorial director of Harmony and Rodale. She had been v-p, editorial director of Harmony. Baroni will report to Aaron Wehner, senior v-p and publisher of Clarkson Potter, Ten Speed Press, Harmony and Rodale Books.
Along with Baroni’s appointment, Crown announced the names of former Rodale employees who are moving to the company:
Gail Gonzales has been appointed v-p, director, publishing strategy, Harmony, Rodale Books, and Clarkson Potter, reporting to both Baroni and Doris Cooper, v-p, associate publisher, Clarkson Potter.
Dervla Kelly has joined Crown as senior editor, Rodale Books and Ten Speed Press, reporting to both Baroni and Lorena Jones, v-p, editor-in-chief, Ten Speed Press and publisher, Lorena Jones Books.
Brianne Sperber has been named senior marketing manager, Harmony and Rodale Books, reporting to Christina Foxley, associate marketing director.
Holly Smith has joined Crown as senior digital marketer, reporting to Donna Passannante, v-p executive marketing director, Crown Publishing Group.
Danielle Curtis has been appointed editorial assistant, Harmony and Rodale Books, reporting to Baroni and Alyse Diamond, associate editorial director, Harmony and Rodale Books.
Crown has also hired Shauna Barry has marketing assistant for Harmony and Rodale Books, and Courtney Mocklow will join the publicity department as a publicity assistant on March 19.
