Jenn Gonzalez has been promoted to executive v-p and director of sales at Macmillan. She replaces Alison Lazarus, who has served as president of Macmillan’s sales division for more than 20 years but is moving to Hachette Book Group effective August 6. At HBG, Lazarus will serve as executive v-p and director of sales.
Gonzalez joined Macmillan in 2012 as v-p of children's sales and, in 2014, merchandising sales were added to her purview. Most recently, she was senior v-p of trade sales. Prior to her time at Macmillan, Gonzalez held sales leadership positions at Random House, Candlewick Press, and Levy (which has been renamed Readerlink).
"Jenn has a great passion for books, deft business sensibilities, and a superb rapport with colleagues, customers, and authors," Don Weisberg, Macmillan president, said in a statement. "The growth in children’s books and merchandise sales have been spectacular. I am confident that Jenn, with the terrific support of her first-rate team, is the right person to lead not only our sales organization, but our books, audios, and authors to continued success."
