Megan Lynch, currently editorial director at HarperCollins' Ecco imprint, has been tapped to lead Macmillan's Flatiron Books imprint. Lynch will join Flatiron as senior v-p and publisher on November 4.
The hire comes after former Flatiron publisher Amy Einhorn was named head of Henry Holt (another Macmillan imprint), following the departure of Ben Schrank. (Schrank had taken over at Holt in 2018.)
In a release about Lynch's hire, Flatiron touted Lynch's editorial record, citing her acquisition of bestsellers and he work with lauded literary writers. To that end, Flatiron noted that she has published Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney's The Nest (which Flatiron described as a "million-copy bestseller") and authors like Ben Fountain, Elizabeth McCracken and Nell Zink.
Prior to Ecco, Lynch was at Riverhead Books for 11 years and worked with writers like Sarah Waters, Emma Straub and Carrie Brownstein.
Lynch will report to Flatiron president Bob Miller who called her "one of the most accomplished editors in our business, with an unerring eye for quality.”
