Lee Jarit has been named global head of publisher and partner relations at Audible, overseeing the audio platform's global acquisitions strategy through its Audiobook Creation Exchange (ACX) and joining its executive leadership team. Most recently, Jarit served as head of ACX and North America publisher partnerships, among other roles. He joined Audible in 2012 from the law firm Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, where his work focused on mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.
As head of ACX, Jarit led the charge on Audible's change to its royalty model, announced in June following months of conversations with bestselling author Brandon Sanderson. Under the changes, more titles—including those put out under Audible’s all-you-can-listen program, Audible Plus—are able to generate royalty payments, with creators and publishers receiving monthly, rather than quarterly, statements, as well as some performance data.
“Lee is a highly respected leader who has been instrumental in forging Audible's vital partnerships with publishers and fueling our tremendous content growth over the years,” said Audible chief content officer Rachel Ghiazza, in a statement. “His deep industry knowledge, passion for audio storytelling, and commitment to empowering creators make him uniquely qualified to drive our global publishing strategy forward.”
