Eric Kampmann may soon be thanking Donald Trump. The president of Midpoint Trade Books, Kampmann thinks Trump is in part to thank for the unexpected surge in interest in Where Is the Birth Certificate?, which is published by WND Books and which Midpoint distributes. The book, by Jerome Corsi -- a controversial right wing author who has written previously about Obama with such factually-challenged titles as Obama Nation -- has gone back to press for three printings, before publication.
Kampmann, who said a possible fourth run will bring the in-print figure of the May-scheduled title to above 100,000, thinks the book's growing popularity may be credited to the attention Donald Trump has given the birther issue. "No one could anticipate the impact Donald Trump's intervention into the Presidential race and his interest in the Birth Certificate [would have]," Kampmann said. Adding that Trump's attention to the issue "has opened the pent-up floodgates," Kampmann thinks Corsi's book may now find a bigger audience than planned.
