Three weeks shy of a year ago, St. Martin's Press signed up a book by a Navy SEAL Team Six sniper, chronicling how he became an elite warrior and the battle that nearly cost him his life. Today, with news of Osama Bin Laden’s death reverberating around the world, SMP is getting ready for a rush of interest in the book, which officially pubs May 24--because Team Six is the group that actually killed Bin Laden. SEAL Team Six: Memoirs of an Elite Navy Seal Sniper by Navy SEAL Howard E. Wasdin and Stephen Templin, his coauthor, is shipping early to stores and will have full national distribution by the middle of next week, a rep from the publisher said.
SEAL Team Six was a secret unit tasked with counterterrorism, hostage rescue, and counterinsurgency. Its members were recruited from existing SEAL teams.
SEAL Team Six is a $26.99 hardcover with eight pages of b&w photos.
