Random House has announced the development and launch of Random House Reader’s Circle Deluxe Reading Group Editions, a line of e-books that will contain 60-90 additional pages of custom nonfiction content geared towards fostering discussion in book groups. The first two books in the series will be Lisa See’s Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. Both were New York Times bestsellers and will go on sale December 12, wherever e-books are sold.
The first two titles are priced at $12.99. Covers of the e-book editions will note that the version are a "Random House Reader's Circle Deluxe Reading Group Edition." In addition to Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, RHPG plans to publish an additional five bestselling titles in 2012 including, The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant, The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff, The Paris Wife by Paula McLain, Juliet by Anne Fortier and Next To Love by Ellen Feldman.
